FIFA President and Hall of Fame member Joseph Sepp Blatter has commended Nigeria for taking football to a different level this year. He was commenting on the exploits of the Nigerian junior national team in the Under-17 category, as they won the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in emphatic fashion.

Blatter wrote to the Nigeria Football Federation stating that he believed that the success of the junior team in the UAE could not but have been as a result of hard work and commitment on the part of the entire football family in Nigeria.

He then charged the administrators of football in Nigeria to continue doing what they have been doing to ensure that the success of the junior team is not short-lived and can transform itself to greater successes in future.
